Lyla is our keeper girl from our 2020 “Operation Stealth pt. 2” Litter (Alfredo x Trinity). She was full of surprises from the start.

First off, we hadn’t planned on keeping a puppy from her litter, but from the moment she appeared on the scene, she had us wrapped around her little paw. One of the cutest puppies ever, she was a jolly, tail-wagging fiend from the minute her eyes opened.

Lyla is as sweet as the day is long. She takes after both her mother, Trinity, and her grandpa, Johnson, in this regard - inheriting what we affectionately call the ‘snuggle’ gene from Johnson.

But unlike either Johnson or Trinity, Lyla isn’t overly pushy about getting affection. She’ll stand quietly off to the side, bowing and stretching - waiting for a person to notice her and invite her up for snuggles. Once invited, she buries her head in your lap, with that happy tail of hers going a-mile-a-minute.

Lyla is a tiny thing, weighing in at only about 22 or 23 lbs, but she makes up for her small size in energy, agility and quickness when playing with her bigger packmates - they are often startled at her intensity and she may be one of the quickest whippets we have. She’s also known to sail right over fences or gates with ease - a very brave, agile girl she is!

From her daddy Alfredo (and really, by way of her grandma Bella), Lyla has inherited the famous sighthound 'roaching' gene - a preference to sleep on her back, more than any other position.

Also from grandma Bella and daddy Alfredo, Lyla has a voice and knows how to use it. She is a talker, though her voice is not nearly so melodic as her granny Bella's. She is an early riser, and likes to let us know all about it by serenading us until we get up.

From her mom, Trinity, Lyla has gotten her deep blue color and beautiful head and expression.

From her granny Polliwog, Lyla has gotten her diminutive size and dark eyes (not common on a dilute blue dog).

She's also got quite a bit of toy drive and was an easy study with obedience training, though she's got her granny Polliwog's independent streak, so takes a bit of convincing that things are her idea.

Overall, Lyla is a cute, independent, smart, snuggly little gal who is easy to be around.
